Attach A File To An Email or Outlook Item

You can attach any type of document or file to an email. Keep in mind, the larger the file, the longer it will take for the recipient to download it.

  1. Create and address the email, as usual, or open the item you wish to attach the file to.


  2. With your cursor in the body of the email, click on the paperclip icon on the toolbar or select Insert from the menu bar, then choose File.


  3. Locate the file you wish to send by changing to the appropriate drive and folder.

  4. Double-click on the file name.  An icon representing the file is placed in the body of the email message.  You can add text (type) above or below the icon.

    Tip: If you're having difficulties placing your cursor above the icon, click anywhere in the message area then press Ctrl + Home .
