Slide layouts allow you to define what you want to include on a slide, i.e. ClipArt, charts, tables, etc. The first step in designing a slide is to select the appropriate Slide Layout from there it's a piece of cake!

  1. Display the slide you wish to edit in Normal view.


  2. Display the Slide Layout Task Pane (select Format from the menu bar then choose Slide Layout). The following Task Pane is displayed:


  3. Note that layouts are divided into 4 categories: Text Layouts, Contents Layouts, Text and Content Layouts, and Other Layouts. Scroll through the list and click on the layout that comes closest to what you would like to include on your slide.

    Note: Each layout offers a different feature. When applied you usually see instructions on how to add the object, such as Click to add text or Double click to add org chart. The following is an example of a slide once the Text & Clip Art layout is selected:
